Use Your Grill to Keep Things Interesting!

Use Your Grill to Keep Losing Weight Interesting!

Around the sixth week in the pr0gram I was getting bored with cooking my chicken or fish on the stove, so I bought a grill.  There is something about grilled chicken or a steak that is a treat all in itself!

I buy a package of sirloin or other lean cut steak and cut them into 3 to 5 oz pieces.  When I grill I cook all of the steak portions at the same time.   Same goes for chicken or hamburger patties; I grill several serving portions of  them while the grill is fired up!  Sometimes I’ll cook a combination of all of them!

That way, when dinner or lunchtime rolls around, it’s easy to grab a tasty serving of lean protein for my meal. I zap it in the microwave along with green beans or some zucchini that I’ve also grilled.  The grilled chicken is great sliced cold on a salad.

I have experimented with several seasonings and marinades, one being Kroger’s 30 Minute Marinade “Garlic Steak”.  For each tablespoon, it has 10 calories, 0 grams fat, and 2 g carbs.  For steak I also like McCormick’s Grill Mates “Montreal Steak”.  For chicken I’ve used Ms. Dash Grilling Blends Chicken with no calories, fat or carbs, and McCormicks Grill Mates Chicken Rub which has 15 calories, no fat and 2 g carbs.

That grill was the best idea ever!  It fires up easily, is ready in no time at all and produces several tasty protein portions  in minutes!  If you don’t have one, buy one.  If you do, use it!
